17hats allows me to get to know my clients at a personal level without the extra work.
My business is based on relationships. The more I know about my client, the better. One of my favorite features in 17hats is the Questionnaire. I LOVE reading information about my clients when they answer my "Getting To Know You" questionnaire.
There is always a fun fact that I probably wouldn't know about them otherwise, and it helps me to create a custom client experience with all their favorite snacks and music. Plus, I get a little glimpse into their personality, which is key when it comes to photographing them.
I'm a creative soul. I'd much rather be photographing in the studio than sitting behind my desk doing office work. I have a Fine Arts Degree not a Business Degree. So when I started my business, I had to learn the basics; client management, workflows, financial planning and much more. You know, all the things that are necessary for running a successful business.
I used to waste my time creating the same emails, building financial reports on Excel and I even kept track of contracts on paper. That gets overwhelming...especially when taxes are due. Now I have 17hats to do those things for me.
My advice - Don't do everything yourself! Let go of some tasks that are not your specialty and let 17hats help run and manage most of the day-to-day tasks. Your mind & time will open up to actually focus on the things you love to do most in business. For me, that's getting back to the creative fun stuff.
